Sarah Connolly records Brahms with pianist Malcolm Martineau
Catriona Morison's Debut Charts
Congratulations to Catriona Morison whose debut Linn album has entered the UK Classical Specialist Official Chart at #3! The dark night has vanished features a world premiere by Josephine Lang plus works by Brahms, Grieg and Schumann.
The recording also featured on BBC Radio 3's 'Record Review' on Saturday as part of the celebrations for International Women's Day. It featured in a round-up of recent releases of music by female composers. Reviewer Natasha Loges said: "She sounds very, very comfortable, very assured in this repertoire she just has such a beautiful compelling sound and I love the way this recital is put together because it really allows Lang to take her rightful place amongst other much more famous song composers. So absolutely thumbs up to Morison and Martineau for this recital."
